Christmas 2010

Another Christmas has come and gone and each year they get more exciting!  One of the million things I love about being a mom, is being able to be a kid all over again.  It's so fun being able to see the magic of Christmas through his little eyes.  He can't stop talking about Santa Claus and the reindeer and is pretty sad we took the tree down already.  He definitely understood Christmas more this year and I can't wait for next year!  Here are a few pictures of his Chritmas haul...this probably only shows about half of everything he got...definitely a spoiled little boy!
He got some candy...
Some rain boots...
 A book...
A Toy Story game...
A Seahawks helmet...
A Buzz Lightyear costume (he was mad I made him stop "flying" for a picture)
A Memory Match game, that we've already played about 400 times :)
Bullseye, Woody & Jessie from Toy Story

Santa Claus

We took Gavin to see Santa for the first time. I was pretty worried he would be too scared and not sit with him but to my surprise, he was so excited while we were in line and when it was our turn, walked right up to him and got in his lap. As you can see from the pictures below, he had the whole "deer in headlights" look, he wasn't totally sure what to think once he got up there but he sure had fun and when Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas, Gavin said "I want Woody!" - from Toy Story. It was so cute! He also got to see some of Santa's Reindeer on our way out.

Gavin & Lily

It was so much fun being pregnant at the same time as my niece Sarah - but it is even more fun watching our kids grow up together! Lily was born on August 12th and Gavin on September 9th of 2008. Here are some cute pictures to show the progression!

Let It Snow!

These pictures were taken on Thanksgiving morning - it was SO cold outside so I wouldn't let Gavin stay out in the snow very long, but the time he did have, he loved it!

Yo Gabba Gabba Live!

We took Gavin to see Yo Gabba Gabba Live in Spokane - if you've never heard of Yo Gabba Gabba, consider yourself lucky! :) It's one of his favorite TV shows and overall it was worth it, he was terrified of our seats because we were only 5 rows back and the characters were so close.  We ended up going up on the balcony as far away as we could get and then he chilled out a little and had fun.  He still talks about it and watching the video clips I took is a daily must do around our house!  Here are a few pictures...

October Wrap Up

Man, I have been slacking at the blog lately.  The older Gavin gets, the less time I have to sit at the computer when I'm home!  Anyhoo, here are a few pictures of what we did...
Went to the pumpkin patch - he had a lot more fun this year...so much fun that he screamed and cried the entire way home because he didn't want to leave.
Finally a family picture where we're all looking at the camera - poor Gavin needs some sunglasses though!
We carved pumpkins - maybe next year he can use a carving tool but for this year I made him use a pen :)
My adorable little monkey!  We took him to a trick-or-treat event in town and he was a little shy, but he definitely got into it more than last year. He was saying "treat!" and would hold his bucket out for candy.  He had more fun at home though, grabbing big handfuls of candy and putting them into the trick-or-treaters bags that came to our house.  I was so worried he wouldn't let me put his costume on him like last year, but he loved it this year and didn't want to take it off!  I already can't wait for next year - being a mom is so much fun and allows you to get to be a kid all over again...I love it! :)

2 Year Update

At 2 years old, Mr. Gavin...

Weighs 31 lbs
Is 36.5" tall
Sleeps all night!  Usually goes down between 7:30-8:30 and sleeps in til anywhere between 5:30-7:30, usually closer to 7:30.
Still in a crib - he hasn't tried climbing out once, so for now we are keeping him there!
Talks - ALOT! He can repeat almost anything and even says a few short sentences. His pediatrician was so impressed with his talking, said she would guess him to be closer to 3 based on that!  Jeez, wonder where he gets that from? :)
LOVES to dance - I'm sure you've all seen the videos by now.
Has a few favorite songs - he has one word names for all the songs he likes, and requests them frequently.
Loves monsters - likes to go around the house with Daddy looking for them.
Knows that Starbucks = coffee.  We drive by and he says "coffee!" - that's how mommy knows she is addicted.
Loves food!  This kid will eat almost anything.  He really loves fruit and grapes are his current obsession.  Sad news though - found out that he is highly allergic to peanuts, and mildly allergic to cows milk and egg whites.  Booo!  Sure hoping he grows out of that.  For now, we will carry an epi-pen with us everywhere we go.
Has gone poopy in the big boy potty 3 times now!  I don't think he's quite ready to full on attempt potty training, but we have the little toilet and training pants when he's ready!
Little man definitely has a stubborn side (hmm...sounds familiar) - and really loves to test to see just what he can get away with.  Time out has become our new friend.  Lucky for us, when he is getting upset or knows he is doing something he shouldn't be doing, he will go and put himself in his time out spot.  And when we put him there, he actually stays.  He will usually cry and scream but eventually calms down and says "all done".

I could go on forever about this little guy - but those are just a few of the highlights at 2.  Everyday is a new experience and he really does change or do something new on a daily basis.  I am so blessed to be his mommy!

Bath Time

He keeps growing...

Just a few hours old.

On his 1st birthday.

On his 2nd birthday.

Gavin Turns 2!

Hard to believe my "baby" is already 2!  We had a small birthday party for him at our house again.  This year he actually had fun opening the presents and knew what to do with the cake...as you can see from the picture below! :)

Chuck E. Cheese

We took Gavin to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time yesterday and he had a lot of fun - loved the loud atmosphere, all the toys/games, and the pizza but he did NOT like Chuckie! When he came out to walk around, Gavin would hold onto me or Daddy and was saying "Bye bye Chuckie!" trying to get him to leave. Pretty funny!

Fair Parade

We took Gavin to the Fair Parade downtown Kennewick - we took him last year and he loved it and he loved it again this year.  He has so much fun watching all the people and loves the noise.  He made sure to yell "HI!!!" and wave to everyone so he got lots of candy.
