Gavin smiled at me for the first time this morning! He was in his bouncy chair and got down on the floor and was talking to him and he started smiling so big ~ I almost started crying!!!! Then he did it again this afternoon a few times in a row! It's such an awesome feeling, especially now that he knows he's smiling and can associate it with being happy....awwww, I am so in love with him!

Almost 10 lbs!

I went in and had Gavin weighed on Thursday and he was 9 lbs 9 oz - I can't believe he's already almost 10 lbs. He is growing up too fast already!!! He is really filling out - he has little rolls on his legs and has a cute little double chin. He is starting to grin/smile a lot more now - he doesn't smile when I come around quite yet, but if I get down to where he can see me and I talk to him, he kicks his legs like crazy and moves his arms to the side like he's really excited. So cute. Anyway, here is a picture I took last night on our way to a hockey game!

5 Weeks!

Gavin is over 5 weeks old now...I can't believe it. The biggest change I've noticed is his neck is getting a lot stronger and he has much more control over it. He is starting to "talk" a lot more when he is awake, he likes to lay on his playmat or sit in his bouncy chair and just listen to the noises around him and look around. I haven't gone in to have him weighed in 2 weeks but I weighed myself (scary!!) and then weighed myself while holding him and I'm guessing he is about 8 1/2 lbs or so. I will take him in next week to find out officially! Here is a picture from yesterday ~

I put him on the Baby Einstein playmat for the first time today and he really seemed to like it. He was on it for almost an hour, just looking around and staring up at the toys.
How cute is this hat! Matt thinks he looks like Shrek in it because of the ears...haha!

1 Month

Can you believe Gavin was already a month old yesterday? We sure can't. Seems like just yesterday I had 2 pink lines on a pregnancy test and now he's here and is already a month old. He is still becoming more alert on a daily basis and is starting to stay awake a lot more during the day. He likes to sit in his bouncy chair and just look around and listen to all the noises.
In other news ~ Matt & I are in the process of buying our first house! Our offer has been accepted and I don't think anything can go wrong so it's pretty much for sure. It's in West Pasco, 2 story, 2,160 SQ FT, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, huge fenced backyard ~ it's a foreclosure home so it's pretty trashed inside, it needs all new carpet & paint and we need to get a few appliances but other than that, it's in good shape! We got it for about $30,000 less than what it's worth - bank owned houses are awesome! It should close around the first week of November and we will be moving in around November 15th. Gavin will have his own room - woohoo!

Weight update!

I took Gavin in yesterday to see how much he weighs and apparently I'm doing a good job of feeding the little man because he is now 7 lbs 8.5 oz! He is still tiny but he's almost up a pound since birth! I'll update sometime this weekend with some new pictures.
